Why does BrndTst exist?
BrndTst exists because many businesses hold significant cash without anyone whose job is to look after it. That leaves room for two kinds of mistake: putting money somewhere unsuitable, and sending it to someone who isn't who they claim to be. Our work is about preventing both, with clear written rules and simple checks.
We work alongside the people who already look after the company's money, such as a founder, managing director or finance manager, and leave them with rules and tools they can run without us.
What principles guide our work?
Five principles guide everything we do: liquidity comes before return, every risk should be explainable in plain words, every firm is checked before money moves, we stay independent because only clients pay us, and decisions are written down so they can be reviewed later.
- Liquidity before return. A business that can't pay its bills has no use for a good return.
- Plain words. If a risk can't be explained simply, it isn't understood well enough to take.
- Check before money moves. Every firm and counterparty, every time, however reputable it sounds.
- Independence. Only our clients pay us, so nobody else has a reason to steer our work.
- Write it down. Policies, checks and decisions are recorded so the board can review them.
Who pays for BrndTst's work?
Our clients, and only our clients. Every engagement has a fixed fee agreed in writing before work starts, and we accept nothing from the banks, fund managers, brokers or lenders our clients deal with. Nobody pays us to write anything on this website either, so our interests stay the same as our clients'.

What can you check about BrndTst before you get in touch?
You can check how we work before you write to us. Our fees, process and limits are published on this site, our emails come only from this website's domain, and we put the scope, deliverables and fixed fee in a signed letter before any work starts. Ask us anything that isn't covered here.

How do we write and check this website?
Our insights are based on regulators' own guidance and other official publications, and each guide tells you which official records to check for yourself. Every page is checked before it is published, reviewed at least once a year and updated when the rules it describes change. We correct mistakes openly; the details are in our editorial policy.
Read the editorial policy, or contact us if you spot something wrong.
